Let Tote #3

Le Tote is a subscription based clothing service similar to Netflix. For $49/mo, you get 3 articles of clothes and 2 accessories out at once. Keep them as long as you want and when you're done (no need to clean them), send them back. They are based in San Francisco which means that for me, it takes about 5 business days between my sending a package and a new one arriving in my mailbox. The packages are shipped priority mail.

There were a few kinks to work out. The first and second tote had tops that were too small for me so I went into the profile and changed my sizing to the large. However, I was still shipping medium tops this time but fortunately, they fit great. I went back into my profile, I changed my sizing back to medium. Maybe there was just something weird going on with the first two totes.

I have a stitchfix coming next week so depending on how many items I keep from that, I may end up buying the black cardigan. You're given the option of purchasing anything in your totes if like them. The necklace is absolutely gorgeous too but not something I would have much occasion to wear.

February Golden Tote

Golden Tote is not the standard subscription box but more of a grab bag type of service. Their monthly grab bags go on sale for one week each month and customers are given the option of purchasing a $49 or $149 bag. In the $49, you have your choice of 1 out of 2 items and are given 2-3 additional items worth a value of up to $250. In the $149 bag, you are given your choice of 2 items with an additional 5-7 items worth up to $600.

For February, I chose the $149 bag and for the most part, am really happy with the items that were sent.

Goldentote Tote

Hem & Thread Tunic Sweater

Tresics basic white cami

Alythea lace cropped cami

Uniq Sweater
This is one of the items I chose for the tote.

Collective Concepts
The other item I chose.

Ellison striped top
The button loop on this top broke when I tried it on. Very disappointing. I've emailed Customer Service so they're aware of the quality control issue and am waiting for a response.

Julibox, I love you!!

Hands down my favorite subscription box! For $40, you get enough spirits and mixers for 2 servings each of 2 different drinks. It's definitely one of the pricier subs out there but I believe it's worth every cent. The packaging is flawless and it was such a joy to unwrap!

This month's theme was Lovers and Revelers with two drinks themed for Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras and I absolutely cannot wait to try them!

The amazing packaging!

Ingredients for "French 75" and "Strawberry Cobbler"
The husband and I don't go out for drinks often so having this service available is a godsend! I would highly recommend Julibox to anyone interested in trying different drinks.

Fabric.com

I am a crafter. I love knitting, sewing, quilting..basically doing anything with my hands and one of my favorite websites for purchasing fabric and sometimes yarn is www.fabric.com. However, I had an experience with them yesterday that was very different from their normal excellent customer service.

So, I've been cranking out chunky knit scarves for family and friends like mad since before Christmas and liked them so much, I decided to make a couple for myself. The best yarn I've found for this particular pattern was Lion Brand Chunky, which I've bought from this site before. Imagine how happy I was when I received an email stating that all knitting and crocheting items were 20% off on their site. When I went to their site, however, the price did not reflect the discounted rate. I started a chat. Here is the transcript:
Here is a screen grab of the link the Customer Service agent sent me to:

And than the link where I directed her to:

Today, of course, when I went back to check the site, the yarn is marked down. This is actually the second time this has happened..the first time being during their holiday promotions. It seems that their site oftentimes takes a day or so to reflect new sales, something I think definitely needs to be fixed OR if that is a known issue, they need to inform their customer service reps of this problem as it's obvious from the transcript that the agent had no clue what was going on.

Of course, I'm going to buy the yarn. I still love them and as mentioned, this is definitely a deviation from their normal excellent customer service but it's definitely something that needs to be addressed.

New Subscription Box: Graze.com

I've discovered a new subscription box and it is fabulous! Graze.com delivers a box of 4 snacks to you straight from the UK for $5/week. Subscribers have the option of choosing between the nibblebox or the lightbox. The nibblebox offers maximum variety (over 100 items) while the lightbox is their low calorie option (over 50 healthy snacks).

The service is currently in beta and requires an invitation to sign up. If you're interested, you can sign up through this invitation link and get your first box for free.

January 2013 Popsugar

Popsugar is a monthly subscription service which costs $35 month and bills itself as sending "hand-selected items in beauty, fashion, home fitness, and food." This was my 4th month and I'm about 50/50 in terms of whether I want to continue or not. I haven't been too impressed the last couple of months and as this is one of the more expensive boxes I subscribe too, I would really like to be wowed! I think I'll give them one more month before deciding whether I want to continue or not. January's theme was "getting a fresh start on that fitness resolution while still finding time to indulge in some warm treats."
Must Have Fitness
Merrithew Stability Ball = $38.99
I will probably use this. It's nice that they included an insert with sample exercises.

Must Have Fashion
The Remix Timebomb = $44.95
Sorry for the crappy picture! This is very hard to photograph but it's a baby blue color. It's a nice color and I'm definitely glad I didn't get pink but would have preferred white or red. This will also probably be used.

Must Have Beauty
Epicuren Discovery Lip Balm = $9.50
This is solid .25oz and I LOVE tea tree oil. I actually opened up it right away and it feels great. It does feel a bit medicinal though so I can see that bothering some people.

Must Have Food
Popbar Hot Chocolate on a Stick = $5.98
Jet-Puffed Vanilla Mallow Bits = $6.49
The hot chocolate on a stick look interesting and I can see how the mallow bits go along with them but they aren't things I would have expected from a box like this. Maybe the popbars but definitely not the mallow bits.

Special Extras
Think Thin Bars = $5.67
These will be taken to the office for snacking.

Casetagram = $15 gift certificate I will probably use this as I do need a new case for my phone.

Final Thoughts Again, these are all things that I will probably use but nothing I would have picked out at the store for myself. I'm okay with the box. Final value was $111.58 (not including the casetagram certificate). If you're interested in joining PopSugar, click here. In the full interest of disclosure, I paid for this box myself and the link takes you to Popsugar through my referral link.

Poor Keyees!

It's a good thing Midas is all bark and no bite!
